Various – XERIE006 The sixth instalment from X ERIE arrives as a 12-inch techno EP, catalogue XERIE006, issued in September 2022. Curated by label founder Horacio Cruz, the record gathers four heavyweight cuts that showcase the imprint’s penchant for driving, club-ready productions. Within X ERIE’s recent output, XERIE006 follows the 2021 XERIE005 and precedes a series of later releases: XERIE007 (2023), XERIE008 (2024), XERIE009 “Non Ebedite EP” (2025) and XERIE010 (2026) featuring Jay Lumen, Horacio Curz and Oscar Escapa. This positioning highlights the label’s steady output of fresh techno from both established names and emerging talent. Side A opens with “Filterheadz – Cyrus”, a track that immediately asserts a relentless groove, setting a kinetic tone for the EP. It is followed by “C-System – Merlox”, which sustains the momentum while introducing a slightly more atmospheric edge, creating a smooth transition between the two A-side selections. On the flip side, “Horacio Cruz – Devil Free” delivers a darker, more hypnotic rhythm, offering a contrast that deepens the record’s overall palette. The final cut, “Wex 10 – Respect”, rounds out the B-side with a stripped-back, pulsating drive that works as a strong closing statement and a potential peak-time tool. XERIE006 sits comfortably within the label’s catalogue, reinforcing X ERIE’s reputation for delivering concise, high-impact techno releases. The presence of both Horacio Cruz’s own production and contributions from Filterheadz, C-System and Wex 10 underscores the label’s collaborative ethos and its role as a platform for diverse techno voices. For DJs, the EP offers four distinct yet complementary tracks that can be mixed in a variety of ways. “Cyrus” and “Merlox” provide a solid opening pair for warm-up sets, while “Devil Free” and “Respect” supply darker, more driving moments suited to peak-time or late-night slots. The concise track lengths and clear sequencing make the record a practical addition to any vinyl-centric collection. The release is pressed on a standard 12-inch vinyl, matching the format expectations of techno collectors and club DJs who value the tactile and sonic qualities of analog media.
