VARIOUS — Grüv Wax 01

Various – GRÜV WAX 01 RAW releases this new 12-inch vinyl under the catalogue number GRUVW01, a techno compilation that promises raw, timeless grooves and a futuristic melodic shimmer. Issued on 4 December 2026, the record arrives in a printed sleeve and coloured vinyl, positioning it as a visual and sonic statement from the RAW imprint. Within RAW’s recent output, GRÜV WAX 01 follows the earlier releases August Memories (RAWV4, 2026) by Mrd and Pace Refinery EP (RAWV5, 2026) from Blame The Mono, while also sitting after the label’s 2024 Cyberdreams EP (RAWV02) and the 2023 Gemstones – Opal (RAWGEM8) and 2021 Gemstones Ruby (RAWVA01.2RP) compilations. This placement highlights RAW’s continued focus on forward-thinking techno and its support for emerging producers. Side A opens with “KUSS – Obsessed”, a track that immediately immerses the listener in a deep, hypnotic groove, setting a tone of relentless focus that carries through the side. “Kaltblume – Vice” follows, extending the momentum with a slightly more melodic contour while retaining the raw texture that defines the compilation’s aesthetic. Side B begins with “RUIZ OSC1 – Cuajada”, a cut that introduces a darker, more introspective atmosphere, offering DJs a moment of tension before the record lifts again. “Beau Didier – Pizza” brightens the mood, delivering a shimmering melodic line that complements the surrounding tracks without breaking the overall cohesion. The final piece, “Sam Ama – Signals We Ignore”, closes the set with a lingering, textured finish that reinforces the compilation’s futuristic edge and provides a smooth segue for the next selection in a set. GRÜV WAX 01 sits as a snapshot of RAW’s curatorial vision, showcasing a generation of producers who are shaping techno’s future rather than following trends. The compilation’s emphasis on raw grooves and hypnotic textures aligns with the label’s recent releases, reinforcing its reputation for forward-leaning, uncompromised techno. For DJs, the record offers a versatile toolkit: the A-side tracks work well for building a deep, driving set, while the B-side provides moments for subtle melodic lifts and atmospheric depth. Collectors will appreciate the coloured vinyl and printed sleeve, which together create a tactile experience that mirrors the music’s vivid, future-focused character. The release is a 12-inch vinyl, presented in a printed sleeve and coloured vinyl, reflecting the label’s commitment to both visual and sonic quality.
