About Release
Various – Gamma Draconis
Suntrip Records’ new double-LP, catalogue SUNCDLP01RP, arrives as a 2×12-inch vinyl set that revisits the golden era of Goa and psychedelic trance. Issued on 18 December 2026, the compilation gathers seminal tracks from the genre’s most revered producers, offering a fresh vinyl experience of classic dancefloor anthems.
Within Suntrip’s recent output, Gamma Draconis follows a series of archival releases that have highlighted the label’s dedication to the Goa canon. Earlier in 2026 the label issued the “Magma EP” (SUNEP04) by Hypnoxock and the “Let There Be Light” LP (SUNCDEP02RP) by Astral Projection, while the “30 Years” double-LPs from Etnica (SUNCDLP08, 2025) and Pleiadians (SUNCDLP09, 2026) further cemented its role as a keeper of the scene’s history. Gamma Draconis sits alongside these efforts as a curated showcase of both long-standing and resurfacing artists.
Side A opens with Xenomorph’s “Dying Sun”, a track that carries a darker, spiralling atmosphere while retaining melodic drive, setting a powerful tone for the disc. The momentum shifts to Battle Of The Future Buddhas’ “Shinechaser”, which pushes further into acid-laden territory with a haunting, 303-inflected vibe that deepens the set’s intensity.
Side B brightens the mood with Shakta’s “Expedition To Earth”, a funky, uplifting piece that injects sunshine after the preceding darkness. The side closes with Astral Projection’s “Dominion”, a quintessential melodic trance composition that showcases the duo’s signature harmonious soundscapes, ideal for creating an emotional peak on the dancefloor.
Side C continues the journey with MFG’s “Global Light (Retro Edit)”, delivering the melodic richness the act is known for, while Oforia’s “Emotionally Charged Memories” offers a warm, floating conclusion to the side, reflecting a more mellow approach that eases the listener toward the record’s final statements.
Side D begins with Roy Sasson’s “Mentalogue”, a deep and groovy psychedelic monster that harkens back to the artist’s 90s Shidapu era, providing a robust, dancefloor-ready foundation. The set ends with RA’s “Eikon”, a track that blends euphoric chords with a contemporary edge, delivering a final uplifting surge that caps the compilation’s emotional arc.
Gamma Draconis functions as both a nostalgic reference and a practical tool for DJs seeking to weave classic Goa energy into modern sets. The sequencing—dark to bright, melodic to atmospheric—offers versatile points for mixing, whether building a peak in a late-night set or providing a sun-lit uplift in a sunrise session. Collectors will appreciate the cohesive curation of iconic tracks, many of which have been difficult to locate on vinyl until now.
The release is presented as a 2×12-inch vinyl package, preserving the original analog warmth of the source material and delivering the tactile experience valued by vinyl enthusiasts.
