About Release

Various – Bureau Electronique opens the UNX003 release on Unex Pected, the MixCult sub-label dedicated to tracks that wander beyond the main catalogue’s borders. Issued as an exclusive vinyl, the four-track EP navigates deep house, minimal house, progressive house and tech house terrain, stitching together melody, groove, brightness and a touch of hazy ambience while keeping a dancefloor focus. Within Unex Pected’s short discography, Bureau Electronique follows the “Highlights” compilation (UNX002, 2025) and precedes Ultranoise’s “Color Filters EP” (UNX001). The label’s ethos of melodic exploration frames this record as a continuation of its “stranger, more melodic” direction, offering a distinct contrast to the parent MixCult output. Side A is devoted entirely to Eseym, whose “Circles” and “Void” arrive after the producer’s Dimension EP on MixCult. “Circles” unfolds as a looping motif that balances a steady pulse with a subtle melodic lift, while “Void” deepens the mood with a darker, more introspective texture, both tracks reinforcing Eseym’s knack for merging groove with an emotive line. The two cuts sit back-to-back, creating a seamless A-side narrative that moves from light to shade. Side B opens with Omar Beik’s “Ja The King”. The track takes its time, allowing space to develop before introducing a shifting groove that keeps the listener guessing, a nod to the Houston DJ’s marathon-night pedigree. Closing the EP, Daniel Gorziza delivers the title track “Bureau Electronique”. Drawing on his German minimal background, the piece revolves around a single moving element, extracting maximal variation from minimal material and providing a crisp, hypnotic finale that ties the record’s disparate moods together. In the context of Unex Pected’s catalogue, Bureau Electronique showcases the label’s commitment to melodic depth across house sub-genres, while each contributor brings a recognizable signature that enriches the overall palette. The record sits comfortably alongside the label’s other releases, reinforcing its reputation for forward-thinking, groove-centric productions. For DJs, the EP offers two distinct entry points: the Eseym duo on A-side supplies extended, melodic loops ideal for warm-up or peak-time layering, whereas the B-side provides a slower-building “Ja The King” for transitional moments and a concise, minimal closing track that can serve as a closing statement or a bridge to deeper set sections. Collectors will appreciate the exclusive vinyl format that captures the label’s analog aesthetic. The record is pressed as an exclusive 12-inch vinyl, reflecting Unex Pected’s focus on tangible, DJ-ready releases. Its straightforward packaging underscores the music’s purity without extra embellishments. Various – Bureau Electronique, Unex Pected, catalogue UNX003, exclusive vinyl, 4 tracks. Tracklist: A1.
