PROPOSITION JOE — It Was All Of Us

Proposition Joe – It Was All Of Us appears on SCHwüNG RECORDS as catalogue number SCHWUNG002, a 12-inch vinyl that slots neatly into the label’s emerging techno house vein. The four-track EP follows the earlier SCHWUNG001 outing “Enter New World”, continuing Joe’s habit of delivering concise, boundary-pushing statements for the dancefloor. SCHwüNG RECORDS has already marked its debut with Proposition Joe’s “Enter New World”, and “It Was All Of Us” arrives as the label’s sophomore release, confirming a focused aesthetic that blends hypnotic groove with a playful, almost propositional attitude. The continuity between the two EPs underscores the label’s commitment to a sound that is both cerebral and club-ready. Side A opens with “Multi Armed Form”, a title that suggests a layered, kinetic energy which sets a forward-moving pulse for the record. Its placement before “Free Your Mind” creates a subtle escalation, the latter title hinting at a release of tension that dovetails into the track’s more expansive feel. Together they frame the A-side as a compact journey from tightly wound rhythm to a broader, mind-freeing atmosphere. On the flip side, “Fight The Hate” arrives with a confrontational name that naturally follows the more introspective mood of the B-side opener, injecting a sharper edge that can be read as a call-to-action for the set. The record closes with the titular “It Was All Of Us”, a track whose name evokes collective experience and serves as a unifying conclusion, tying the EP’s thematic strands together while maintaining the techno house groove that runs throughout. Within Proposition Joe’s short discography, “It Was All Of Us” builds on the groundwork laid by “Enter New World”, reinforcing the artist’s reputation for crafting succinct EPs that balance experimental flair with dancefloor functionality. The record’s concise format makes it a versatile tool for DJs seeking to inject a narrative arc into a set, whether as a bridge between deeper cuts or as a climax that unifies disparate sections. From a collector’s perspective, the EP’s four-track structure and its placement within SCHwüNG RECORDS’ early catalogue make it a noteworthy addition for those tracking the label’s evolution or assembling a focused techno house vinyl library. Its tracks offer enough variation to be mixed individually while still presenting a cohesive whole that rewards repeated listening. The release is pressed on a standard 12-inch vinyl, matching the format of its predecessor and fitting comfortably into any DJ’s crate. Its straightforward presentation aligns with the label’s aesthetic of letting the music speak without extraneous embellishments.
