HYSTERIC — Db12 021

The legendary Hysteric offers an EP of quirky, sure fire dance cuts that have come to define his sound, mixing Cosmic, Italo, Library and more in a way that is uniquely his own.Running the Mothball Records for the past decade, DJ, designer, editor, producer and more, now he also has the secretive Crudo Ricordi label on the horizon, edits from friends coming.Aqualung, a prime example, an edit for the openminded, snapping percussion, funky guitar and choice vocals from some forgotten instructions record gone mad.The intensely titled, Car Crash In Toytown brisks and cracks with dancefloor intent. Snapping, funky, hard kicking, before dark strings lead to some humorous swing, a DJ Tool in the old school sense, just for Italo lovers.Asiatheque is the party piece of the release. 80s arps, slap bass, snare flying, crescendo incoming, Japanesish strings, all combine for the perfect club moment.Geisterbahn brings it back, the closer, all synth, cute keys play, trippy vox dashes and metronome percussion, a voyage across the skies, tears receding, smile forwarding, Hysteric sends us to that special place again. Hope, funk and the true outersphere.
