Within Karlrecords’ 2026 output, Materia follows the earlier releases of Martina Bertoni’s “Electroacoustic Works for Halldorophone LP 2x12” (KR118LP) and “Hypnagogia” (KR097TP), as well as Schneider Tm’s “Ereignishorizont LP 2x12” (KR104LP) and Zeitkratzer’s “Reinhold Friedl: Scarlatti” (KR102). It precedes Gamut Inc.’s “Music For Air” (KR126), situating Aldinucci’s work amid a series of releases that explore texture and spatial perception. Side A opens with “Not Here”, an 8-minute-plus composition that establishes the record’s long-form perspective. The piece unfolds through gradual accumulation, allowing layers to emerge and recede without a conventional climax. “In A Shadow Of Noise” continues the exploration, its 7-minute span treating noise as raw material that is shaped, fragmented and reorganised, reinforcing the album’s central concern with the hidden substance of sound. The two tracks on side A set a contemplative tone that invites deep listening and subtle mixing transitions. Side B begins with “Cenere E Onde Lontane”, a shorter yet immersive movement that maintains the focus on texture and resonance. “Come Luce, In Sogno” follows, preserving the album’s continuity while offering a slight shift in mood, suggesting a luminous, dream-like atmosphere.
