ELEMENTS OF LIFE FEATURING, LISA FISCHER — Soar

Elements Of Life Featuring – Soar The new 12-inch from Vega Records (catalogue VR228) arrives as a house-focused statement from the collaborative project Elements Of Life Featuring, with the vocal powerhouse Lisa Fischer. Issued on 6 November 2026, the record captures the uplifting spirit that has become synonymous with the Vega imprint, pairing a soaring vocal performance with a production that blends live musicianship and polished house sensibility. Within Vega’s 2026 output “Soar” follows the earlier releases “Mercy Of Time” (VR227) and “Shout!” (VR226) and shares its release day with the label’s “Vega Records 5 Pack Unreleased VII” (VRADE26). The progression from the more groove-driven “Mercy Of Time” to this expansive vocal house piece illustrates Vega’s commitment to balancing club-ready energy with emotive songwriting. Side A opens with the “Original Mix”, a track built around Lisa Fischer’s breathtaking vocal that delivers a message of hope and self-discovery. The arrangement unfolds with a rich tapestry of live instrumentation, allowing the melody to breathe while maintaining a steady house pulse that suits both peak-time moments and more reflective set sections. The track’s structure moves from a restrained introduction into a full-bodied chorus, creating a natural lift that encourages dancers to rise with the music. Flipping the record, B1 presents the “Ivan Solo Dub”. Stripped of the vocal lead, this version emphasizes the rhythmic foundation and the expressive soprano saxophone solo contributed by Ivan Renta. The dub’s focus on texture and groove offers DJs a darker, more hypnotic option for late-night transitions, while still retaining the melodic motifs that tie it back to the A-side. The collaboration between Louie Vega and Josh Milan under the 2SoulFusion moniker continues to blur the lines between house, soul, and jazz, a hallmark of their work on the Elements Of Life project. The presence of Grammy-winning bassist Christian McBride, live drums by Tony Cintron and percussion from Luisito Quintero, adds an organic depth that distinguishes the record from more synth-driven contemporaries. Background vocal contributions from Dawn Tallman, Ramona Dunlap and Lea Lorien further enrich the communal feel of the track. In the context of Vega’s catalogue, “Soar” stands as a bridge between the label’s reverence for classic house vocal anthems and its forward-looking production values. It complements the label’s recent focus on high-quality collaborations that marry live performance with dancefloor intent, reinforcing Vega’s reputation as a home for music that moves both bodies and hearts. For DJs, the record offers two distinct tools: the “Original Mix” works as a powerful peak-time anthem, its uplifting refrain ready to lift a crowd, while the “Ivan Solo Dub” provides a deeper, more atmospheric texture suitable for back-to-back mixing or winding down a set. Collectors will appreciate the meticulous production credits, including engineering by Yas Inoue & Josh Milan and mastering by Herb “Pump” Powers, as well as the involvement of seasoned musicians whose names signal a level of craftsmanship often reserved for premium releases. The 12-inch vinyl presents the two mixes on opposite sides, preserving the dynamic range of the live instrumentation and the clarity of Fischer’s vocal performance. Its format aligns with the label’s tradition of delivering house records that translate well to both analog playback and club sound systems.
