CHEEKY CHOPS — Vol 3

Cheeky Chops – Vol 3 opens the Cheeky Chops 12-inch vinyl release CCHOPS003 with a crisp statement of disco-house sensibility. The limited run of 200 copies revisits classic dancefloor material through fresh edits, positioning the record squarely in the edit-focused pop house and disco vein that the label champions. Although the label’s broader catalogue is not detailed here, the release stands as a concise showcase of the cheeky chopper’s approach to re-imagining familiar grooves. By limiting the pressing to a modest 200, the record invites collectors who value rarity alongside dancefloor relevance. Side A begins with “Shaved My Way”, a title that hints at a trimmed-down, sleek reinterpretation of a well-known track. The edit trims the original’s excess, delivering a focused groove that slides neatly into the next cut. On the flip, “Whale Love Is” continues the playful re-editing ethos, offering a buoyant, melodic contour that contrasts with the tighter A-side while retaining the same disco-house pulse. The two tracks together frame the record’s aesthetic: concise, dancefloor-ready edits that respect the source material while injecting fresh energy. Within the current underground scene, such re-edits serve both DJs and listeners seeking familiar hooks in a more immediate format. The record’s brevity makes it a handy tool for DJs looking to weave classic motifs into modern sets without the weight of a full-length remix. Collectors will appreciate the limited nature and the focused selection of two tracks that each distill a classic into a club-ready moment. The 12-inch vinyl format provides the warm analog fidelity prized by house and disco enthusiasts, ensuring each groove translates the edited material with the depth and punch expected on the dancefloor. The pressing, limited to 200 copies, adds a layer of collectibility without compromising the record’s functional purpose. Cheeky Chops – Vol 3, Cheeky Chops, CCHOPS003, 12-inch vinyl, 2 tracks.
