CHAOU.B — Party Boy LP

Chaou.B – Party Boy LP Stranger Pulse delivers its second 12-inch vinyl offering with SP002, a four-track record that situates itself firmly in the electro-tinged crossroads of house, techno and progressive sounds. Designed for the dancefloor, the EP presents a concise yet varied set of cuts that explore both melodic momentum and darker, hypnotic textures. Within the label’s short catalogue, Party Boy follows the earlier SP001 release Stranger Pulse In My Head by the same artist, extending the label’s focus on forward-thinking club music while maintaining a consistent sonic identity. The progression from the first to the second EP underscores Stranger Pulse’s commitment to evolving the electro-house dialogue. Side A opens with “Take Me Dancing” (A1), a track that shifts between progressive house and tech house, its electro-infused bassline providing a driving pulse that can be layered into peak-time moments. The second cut, “Inside The Box” (A2), turns the momentum toward a deeper techno vein, marrying progressive structures with a darker, more hypnotic edge that invites a gradual build in a set. Flipping the record, “Party Boy” (B1) continues the techno-leaning trajectory, offering a tighter, more relentless groove that sustains tension while allowing for seamless mixing into late-night peaks. Closing the side, “Reflections” (B2) revisits the progressive-tech house blend of the opener, delivering an electro-charged bass foundation that can bridge the darker B-side mood back to lighter moments on the floor. The EP’s four cuts collectively create an immersive atmosphere, each piece contributing to a sustained energy flow that can be deployed from early set-up to the climax of a night. For DJs, the record supplies two versatile entry points—A1 and B2—for melodic progression, as well as two deeper, more driving selections—A2 and B1—for darker, more intense passages. The concise format makes it a practical addition to any vinyl-centric collection, offering both mix-ready flexibility and a cohesive listening experience. The 12-inch vinyl format preserves the analog warmth essential to the record’s textural depth, allowing the nuanced electro basslines and evolving progressions to translate with fidelity on club-grade decks.
