VARIOUS — Still Rooted Sampler 3

Various – Still Rooted Sampler 3 Foundation Audio’s FASRVS3 arrives as a 12-inch vinyl that gathers four distinct dubstep cuts under the Still Rooted sampler banner. Issued on 16 October 2026, the record slots into the label’s ongoing series of sampler EPs, offering a snapshot of the current underground bass scene while keeping the focus on track-by-track craftsmanship. Within the Foundation Audio catalogue, Still Rooted Sampler 3 follows the 2024 outings “Amplify / Raze” (FAVX015) and “Pipe Down / Pussyfoot” (FAVX016) by Chad Dubz and collaborators, and sits alongside the 2023 “Tribal Flex / YY” (FAVX014) from Sub Basics. On the same release day the label also drops Still Rooted Sampler 4 (FASRVS4) and Proove’s “You Snake EP” (FAV024), underscoring a busy period that highlights both the sampler concept and individual artist statements. Side A opens with “Pharma – Roots”, a track that leans into the genre’s weighty low end while maintaining a measured rhythmic pulse, setting a grounded tone for the side. It is followed by “Sedan – Open Carry”, which shifts the mood with a slightly more open-hearted groove, creating a subtle contrast that keeps the momentum fluid without breaking the overall dubstep aesthetic. Side B continues the journey with “WZ – Marrakeshi”, a cut that evokes a distant, desert-inspired atmosphere, its title suggesting an exotic flair that complements the darker textures of the preceding tracks. The record closes with “Ninety – Rax”, a final statement that ties together the sampler’s thematic focus on deep, resonant bass while offering a concise, DJ-friendly ending. The Still Rooted sampler series has become a reference point for collectors seeking a curated glimpse of Foundation Audio’s evolving sound palette. This third installment reinforces the label’s commitment to showcasing diverse producers within the dubstep spectrum, positioning the release as a connective tissue between earlier 2023-2024 outings and the simultaneous releases slated for the same day. For DJs, the four tracks provide immediate utility: each cut is structured for seamless mixing, with clear intros and outros that lend themselves to both peak-time peaks and more subdued, after-hours sets. The varied moods—from the grounded weight of “Pharma – Roots” to the exotic vibe of “WZ – Marrakeshi”—give programmers flexible options for shaping a set’s narrative. The record is pressed as a 12-inch vinyl, matching the format of the label’s recent sampler and EP releases. Its straightforward packaging reflects the series’ focus on the music rather than ancillary embellishments.
