TIGA, MRD — Ecstasy Surrounds Me (remixes)

Tiga & Mrd – ECSTASY SURROUNDS ME (REMIXES) arrives on Turbo Recordings as catalogue 179006, a 12-inch vinyl that bridges introspective depth with club-floor exhilaration. The release, slated for 4 December 2026, gathers a trio of versions that reinterpret the original’s emotive core through a techno lens. Turbo Recordings has built a reputation for forward-thinking dance music, and this EP follows a string of 2025-2026 outings such as Sniper Mode’s “Riot Gear (LP 2x12”)” (TURBO252) and Raxon’s “4T20M” (TURBO254). Earlier entries like Extrawelt’s “Jamborghini EP” (TURBO256) and Sascha Funke’s “MZ (Remixes)” (TURBO250) demonstrate the label’s commitment to both melodic nuance and kinetic drive, a context in which Tiga & Mrd’s latest fits comfortably. Side A opens with the Deetron Remix, a version that stretches the original’s euphoric pulse, allowing the groove to breathe while maintaining a relentless forward motion. Deetron’s touch adds a subtle tension that makes the track suitable for both peak-time moments and more reflective set sections. The second cut, Budino’s Remix, continues the uplift, injecting a slightly darker hue that deepens the emotional resonance without sacrificing dancefloor momentum. The third track, the original “ECSTASY SURROUNDS ME”, anchors the side with the unaltered composition, offering a reference point for the two reinterpretations and showcasing the composition’s inherent balance between introspection and kinetic release. The record’s sequencing creates a narrative arc: the two remixes amplify the original’s euphoria, each adding a distinct colour before the unremixed version re-asserts the core theme, making the EP a useful tool for DJs seeking to build or release tension across a set. Within Tiga’s recent output, this release follows a busy year that included the “SUNGLASSES AT NIGHT (25TH ANNIVERSARY)” 12-inch on Armada (ARMNWSV019) and the “HOTLIFE” LP on Secret City (SCRLP189). Those records explored synth-driven nostalgia and expansive club narratives; ECSTASY SURROUNDS ME (REMIXES) continues that trajectory by focusing on techno’s capacity for emotional depth. For Mrd, whose 2026 “August Memories” on RAW (RAWV4) displayed a crisp, melodic approach, this collaboration highlights a willingness to engage with darker, more driving textures. From a collector’s perspective, the EP offers a concise yet varied listening experience, with three distinct takes that reward repeated spins. DJs will find the Deetron Remix a strong choice for building energy in the early hours, while Budino’s version provides a slightly more moody option for transitional moments. The original mix serves as a reliable anchor for those preferring the unaltered composition. The release is pressed on 12-inch vinyl, adhering to Turbo Recordings’ standard format for its techno output. The physical format ensures the tactile experience prized by vinyl enthusiasts and the analog warmth that complements the record’s emotive intent.
