VARIOUS — Veil Of Echoes III 2x12"

Various – Veil Of Echoes III Sublunar’s SUBL035 arrives as a 2×12-inch vinyl set that continues the label’s focus on forward-thinking techno. Issued on 30 October 2026, the compilation gathers a dozen producers under the “Veil Of Echoes” banner, offering a cohesive yet varied snapshot of the current underground sound. With its crisp sequencing and attention to mood, the release stands out as a purposeful addition to any crate. Within Sublunar’s recent output, Veil Of Echoes III follows a string of 2026 statements that have shaped the label’s aesthetic. Earlier in the year the imprint delivered Disguised’s “Carcosa” (SUBL034), Hadone’s double-12 “Kept What Remained” (SUBL033), and Connor Wall’s “Equals” (SUBL029), each reinforcing a penchant for deep, hypnotic grooves. The “Veil Of Echoes” series itself began with the first volume (SUBL016), and this third instalment builds on that foundation while introducing fresh perspectives from the roster. Side A opens with Disguised’s “Severed”, a track that immediately sets a dark, immersive tone, its title suggesting a concealed rhythm that pulls the listener inward. The mood shifts subtly with Pierce’s “Villain’s Hideout”, a piece that feels like a hidden passage in a nocturnal cityscape, providing a complementary contrast to the opening cut while maintaining the record’s overall tension. Side B expands the journey with three distinct contributions. Toobris presents “El and L”, a title that evokes a dialogue between two entities, and the music follows suit with an interplay that feels both conversational and propulsive. Jancen’s “Deep Life” deepens the atmosphere, offering a weighty, resonant groove that works well for late-night sets. Hyden’s “Valkyrie” adds a mythic edge, its soaring feel suggesting a moment of uplift before the side concludes. Side C continues the narrative with Benza’s “Stand Together”, a track that, by its name, hints at a unifying pulse, delivering a steady drive that can anchor a DJ’s mix. Mython’s “Compulsion” follows, its title implying an irresistible pull; the music mirrors this with a looping intensity that encourages movement on the dancefloor. Side D closes the compilation with four tracks that each bring a distinct flavor. Olympios’s “Futura” looks ahead, its forward-leaning vibe offering a futuristic texture suitable for peak-time moments. VNTM’s “Express” arrives with a sense of urgency, its rhythm suited for quick transitions. Finally, Iman Janes’s “Siren” caps the set with an alluring, hypnotic quality that feels like a final call to the night’s end. For DJs, Veil Of Echoes III supplies a toolbox of tracks that can be mixed in various contexts. The opening cuts on side A provide strong intro material, while the deeper, more meditative pieces on sides B and C are ideal for building tension in a set. The closing side offers both forward-moving energy and atmospheric closure, making the compilation a versatile resource for both peak-time and after-hours programming. From a collector’s perspective, the double-12 format allows each side to breathe, preserving the intended sequencing and dynamic range. The pressing respects Sublunar’s reputation for quality, delivering a tactile experience that complements the music’s depth.
