REEDOO, JUST JUL' — Burst Session #1

Reedoo – Burst Session #1 opens the Love Shelter catalogue with a 12-inch vinyl that stitches together acid house, UK garage, drum-and-bass-inflected rhythms and global beats. Produced across Brest in France and Brussels in Belgium, the EP showcases a collaborative spirit that favours groove and dancefloor propulsion over strict genre conventions, positioning the release as a hybrid club statement. Although Love Shelter’s broader output remains undisclosed, the label’s own description frames Burst Session #1 as a blueprint for future output: an open-minded, border-less approach to club music that embraces diverse influences while keeping the floor moving. Side A begins with “Forest”, a track that conjures a dense, rhythmic landscape, its title suggesting a deep, immersive groove that invites movement. The follow-up, “Swamp Race”, picks up the momentum, offering a faster-paced, percussive drive that feels like a chase through tangled terrain, linking seamlessly with the opening cut. Side B continues the journey with “B1 2: Step Beyond”, a title that hints at a forward-looking shift; the piece expands the record’s palette, pushing the tempo and texture into a more experimental zone while retaining the underlying danceable pulse. The record closes with “Just Le Blans Est Chelou”, a phrase that evokes a quirky, off-kilter mood; the final cut rounds off the EP with a playful, rhythmically adventurous statement that leaves space for DJs to reinterpret its energy. Within the limited discography currently available, Reedoo and Just Jul’ bring together their respective production backgrounds to craft a release that feels both rooted in classic club line-ups and exploratory in its cross-genre dialogue. The EP’s blend of acid textures, garage swing, and bass-heavy beats reflects a contemporary underground trend toward genre fluidity, making it a relevant snapshot of current club culture. For DJs, the four tracks provide distinct tools: “Forest” and “Swamp Race” work well as warm-up or early-set selections, their steady grooves building tension; “Step Beyond” offers a peak-time option with its forward thrust, while “Just Le Blans Est Chelou” serves as a versatile closer or a surprise element in a late-night set, its off-beat character inviting creative mixing. The record arrives as a standard 12-inch vinyl, matching the format expectations of collectors and crate-diggers who value the tactile experience of analog playback.
