ADAM COLLINS, LOCKY MAZZUCCHELLI, SLOTH UK, SWEATER — Various Artists

Adam Collins, Locky Mazzucchelli, Sloth UK & Sweater – Various Artists Visitors’ third outing, catalogue VSTR003, arrives as a 12-inch vinyl that stitches together the lineage of tech-house with a fresh electro edge. The EP gathers two veteran architects of the scene—Pete Hurst under the Sloth UK moniker and Adam Collins—with rising talents Locky Mazzucchelli and Sweater, delivering four tracks that span acidic textures, raw bass-driven house and broken-beat techno rhythms. The release is positioned as a versatile, club-ready statement that bridges the label’s established sound with newer impulses. Within the Visitors catalogue, VSTR003 follows the earlier VSTR001 (Various, 2026) and Jake Childs’ “Then & Now” (VSTR002, 2026). Those prior outings set a precedent for the label’s focus on forward-thinking dance music, and this EP continues that trajectory by juxtaposing legacy tech-house aesthetics with contemporary production techniques. Side A opens with “Sloth UK – Mambulance (Electro Mix 2)”. The track leans into an acidic vibe that nods to the label’s early electro influences while maintaining a propulsive groove suited to peak-time decks. Its placement establishes a forward momentum that carries directly into “Sweater – Communicate”, a piece that retains the acid undercurrent but introduces a smoother, more melodic contour, offering DJs a seamless transition from raw energy to a slightly more introspective mood. On the flip, “Locky Mazzucchelli – Hardman's Hardball Pt. 2” injects broken techno rhythms that feel both kinetic and precise, providing a rhythmic shift that can re-ignite a set after a more melodic stretch. The final cut, “Adam Collins – Tribal Gathering”, grounds the EP with a raw bassline house feel, echoing the old-school attitude mentioned by the label while still feeling contemporary enough to sit comfortably in modern club programming. For Adam Collins, this release arrives after the “Eyes Closed Fantasy EP” on Brixton Row Records (BR003, 2026) and earlier vinyl exclusives on Vitamin For Ears and Soft Spoken Secret, marking a continued exploration of house-centric territories. Locky Mazzucchelli’s contribution follows the “Breaking The Silence EP” on Awkward Silence (AWKS002, 2026), reinforcing a pattern of crisp, tech-oriented productions. Sweater brings experience from a series of 12-inch outings—“Steam Index EP” (Sauna Records, 2026), “Future Moves” (Small Moves, 2026), “This Modern Life” (MME Recordings, 2025) and earlier releases on BLKMARKET MUSIC and Pearled Records—demonstrating a consistent ability to blend emotive synth work with club-floor functionality. In the broader context of underground electronic music, VSTR003 exemplifies how a label can curate a dialogue between seasoned producers and emerging voices. The EP’s balance of acidic accents, driving basslines and broken-beat structures reflects current trends where genre boundaries blur, yet each track retains a clear identity that can be isolated or mixed in sequence. From a DJ’s perspective, the record offers a compact toolkit: the A-side supplies high-energy, dancefloor-ready tracks that can open or sustain a set, while the B-side provides a rhythmic reset with a more percussive edge before concluding with a bass-heavy closer. Its four-track format makes it easy to slot into a record bag without sacrificing versatility, and the sequencing encourages a narrative arc that can be exploited in live performance. The physical package is a 12-inch vinyl, matching the label’s established format for its EP releases. The record’s pressing aligns with the aesthetic of Visitors’ previous output, delivering a tactile experience that complements the music’s blend of new-school polish and old-school grit.
