RECUT — Picture About You

Recut – PICTURE ABOUT YOU opens a new chapter for the RECUT MUSIC imprint, catalogued as RECUTMUSIC007 and issued as a 12-inch vinyl. The EP fuses the lineage of Chicago house, acid house and deep house into a contemporary statement for modern dancefloors, drawing on the heritage of club culture and the personal narrative of the producer. Within the RECUT MUSIC catalogue, this release follows the earlier 2025 EP Narcotic Tango (RECUTMUSIC006). The progression from the previous record to the current one underscores a continued exploration of hypnotic grooves and evolving textures that define the label’s aesthetic. Side A begins with the title track “Picture about you”. The piece develops a hypnotic and emotional groove that balances old-school character with a fresh perspective, reflecting Recut’s artistic identity and his familial link to early Italian independent radio through his uncle Mr. Steve. The track’s structure invites the DJ to weave it into a set that bridges nostalgia and present-day momentum. The second cut on side A, “Hey jack”, steps up the intensity. Described as a powerful dancefloor weapon, it delivers unstoppable grooves, acid-tinged lines and arpeggiated motifs that drive peak-time energy forward, making it a natural choice for moments when the crowd’s energy needs a lift. Side B opens with “Subwave”, which pushes the journey into a deeper, more massive dimension. The track is built on a strong low-end foundation, evolving dynamics and explosive transitions that generate tension before releasing its full impact, offering DJs a tool for building dramatic peaks in a set. The EP closes with “Neon Flux”. This final statement is fierce, electric and uncompromising, designed to push intensity beyond the limit and leave a lasting impression on the floor, perfect for closing moments or high-energy bursts. Recut’s recent output, notably the 2025 Narcotic Tango on the same label, shows a consistent focus on merging classic house vocabularies with contemporary production. PICTURE ABOUT YOU extends that trajectory, reinforcing the artist’s position within the deep-house and acid-house currents that populate today’s underground scene. For DJs, the record offers a clear narrative arc: a groove-rich opener for warm-up, a peak-time driver on “Hey jack”, a tension-building centerpiece with “Subwave”, and a climactic finale in “Neon Flux”. Collectors will appreciate the continuity of Recut’s sonic language across RECUT MUSIC releases and the tangible link to the early days of Italian club radio embedded in the EP’s concept. The release arrives as a 12-inch vinyl, matching the format of its predecessor and providing the tactile experience valued by vinyl enthusiasts.
