LONDON ELEKTRICITY — Syncopated City (special Edition)

London Elektricity – Syncopated City (Special Edition) arrives on Hospital Records as catalogue NHS142LPSE, a 12-inch vinyl that re-assembles the full twelve-track album for the first time in a single format. The release revisits the 2008 drum-and-bass landmark, presenting the music in an exclusive special-edition pressing housed in a triple-gatefold sleeve, a presentation aimed squarely at collectors and long-time fans. Within Hospital Records’ 2026 output, this special edition follows a series of notable releases such as Everything But The Girl’s “RUN A RED LIGHT (LOGISTICS REMIX)” (NHS599T) and Nu:logic’s “What I’ve Always Waited For (Special Edition)” (NHS231LPSE). While those titles arrived earlier in the year, NHS142LPSE adds a retrospective depth to the label’s catalogue, juxtaposing contemporary singles with a seminal full-length that helped define the label’s early sound. Side A opens with “Bare Religion”, a track that sets a measured, rolling groove, leading into the darker tonal shift of “This Dark Matter”. The title “Just One Second” follows, recalling one of the album’s most recognizable moments, before “All Hell Is Breaking Loose” escalates the momentum. “Southeastern Dream” eases the flow, giving way to the high-energy “Attack Ships On Fire”. The side closes with “Point Of No Return”, “Outnumbered”, “USKA”, “Sat Nav”, the revisited “Syncopated City Revisiteㅇ”, and finally “Maybe I Was Wrong”, each sustaining the album’s blend of melodic phrasing and kinetic rhythm that has kept the record relevant on dancefloors for over a decade. In the context of London Elektricity’s recent output, the special edition follows the 2025 “Rebuilding Better Worlds 3x12” (NHS444LPNOCOVER) and the 2024 “Billion Dollar Remixes 2x12” (NHS495LP). Those releases explored new production angles and remix collaborations, while “Syncopated City (Special Edition)” returns to the artist’s core compositional voice, offering a comprehensive listening experience that mirrors the original album’s intended narrative arc. For DJs, the record provides a full suite of tracks that can be mixed sequentially or broken apart for selective use. The early cuts lend themselves to warm-up sets, the mid-album “Attack Ships On Fire” supplies a peak-time surge, and the closing “Maybe I Was Wrong” offers a reflective outro suitable for late-night transitions. Collectors will appreciate the unified presentation of all twelve tracks, a rarity in the current market where many classic drum-and-bass albums remain fragmented across multiple releases. The product is pressed as a 12-inch vinyl, presented in a luxurious triple-gatefold sleeve that underscores its status as a collector’s item. The format respects the original sequencing while delivering the tactile experience prized by vinyl enthusiasts.
