HANNAH HOLLAND — Action Satisfaction / Mitzubishi

Hannah Holland – Action Satisfaction / Mitzubishi opens the latest Batty Bass Records offering, catalogued as BB32, on 12-inch vinyl. Slated for a 9 November 2026 release, the EP lands squarely in the techno-house corridor, pairing Holland’s production with long-standing collaborators Kurtis Lincoln and Joy Joseph. The four-track record presents two original cuts and two remixes that translate club-ready intensity into a concise, vinyl-friendly format. Within the Batty Bass catalogue, BB32 follows the earlier “Unmask Me EP” by Mama (catalogues BB26G and BB26P, both from 2026). Those releases established the label’s penchant for dark, kinetic grooves, and Holland’s EP continues that trajectory, sharpening the focus on bass-driven momentum while expanding the roster’s collaborative spirit. Side A opens with “Action Satisfaction”, a heavy, driven track anchored by a seriously mean, ceaseless bassline. Kurtis Lincoln’s unmistakable vocal adds a theatrical edge, while Joy Joseph’s percussion layers additional physicality, reinforcing the track’s kinetic thrust. The remix by DJ Split reinterprets the original with a slower tempo and a sleazy, low-slung groove, swapping peak-time pressure for after-hours swagger that suits a more relaxed, yet still compelling, set segment. Side B introduces “Mitzubishi”, a darker, heads-down number built for late-night pressure and packed dancefloors. Its ominous tone invites a focused, immersive listening experience. Wigs’ remix pushes the track further into techno territory, sharpening its heads-down character and designing a relentless loop that aims to lock the crowd in place. For Hannah Holland, BB32 arrives after a series of notable vinyl releases: the “Satisfy EP” on Super Rhythm Trax (SRTX041, 2025), the double-12 “The Visitor” on SPOTLIGHT (SPOT003, 2024), and the “Tectonic LP” on Prah Recordings (PRAH36LP, 2022). Each prior work explored different facets of house and techno, and the current EP consolidates that evolution into a focused, four-track statement. The involvement of Kurtis Lincoln—a multidisciplinary artist whose vocal work bridges fine art and rave culture—adds a distinctive theatrical flair, while Joy Joseph’s background as a drummer and live percussionist, with ties to East London’s New Wave scene and collaborations with mainstream artists, injects a palpable rhythmic depth. Within Batty Bass’s current output, the EP reinforces the label’s commitment to dark, dancefloor-centric productions. The juxtaposition of the original tracks with the remixes showcases the label’s openness to reinterpretation, allowing DJs to select between peak-time pressure and after-hours mood without leaving the record’s sonic core. From a DJ’s perspective, “Action Satisfaction” delivers a powerful bass foundation ideal for opening or peak moments, while the DJ Split remix offers a smoother, groove-oriented alternative for transitioning sets. “Mitzubishi” and its Wigs remix provide darker textures suitable for late-night slots, with the remix’s heightened techno edge fitting tightly into a more focused, hypnotic portion of a set. Collectors will appreciate the concise four-track layout, which captures both the original vision and two distinct reinterpretations on a single 12-inch disc. The release is pressed on 12-inch vinyl, matching the format of Holland’s earlier EPs and the label’s recent output. The record’s physical presence complements its club-oriented intent, offering DJs and vinyl enthusiasts a tactile medium for these dancefloor workouts.
