About Release

HabibiSly – Habibi Rhapsody LP arrives on Heavenly Sweetness as catalogue HS287VL, a 12-inch vinyl that gathers electro, hip-hop trance and afrobeat trance under a distinctly Middle-Eastern banner. The record reflects the producer’s upbringing in the Parisian 18th arrondissement, where the cultural cross-pollination of his heritage and the city’s underground scene forged a polyphonic approach to composition. On this debut EP, HabibiSly translates nocturnal frenzies, transcendent melodies and oriental languor into a compact, dancefloor-ready statement. Heavenly Sweetness has been building a diverse catalogue of genre-blurring releases. Earlier in 2026 the label issued David Walters’ “KRYÉ MWEN - DISCO CLUB REMIX” (HS283VL), while 2025 saw Djingo Typical Band’s “VINI OUAIS (Remix EP)” (HS271VL) and 2024 brought out Cotonete’s “O CÉU É PRETO FEAT. GYSTERE (DIMITRI FROM PARIS + DJ DEEP REMIXES)” (HS258VL), Guts’ “Estrellas Remixes (2x12”)” (HS250VL), and the double-LP “Digital Zandoli 2” (HS169VL). The label’s recent output demonstrates a commitment to global rhythms and electronic experimentation, a context into which Habibi Rhapsody naturally fits. Side A opens with “Dar Algajola”, a track that immediately summons the title’s evocation of a desert garden. Its groove leans into the electro-disco lineage while the rhythmic pulse hints at afrobeat trance, creating a spacious platform for DJs to layer melodic loops or percussive accents. The second cut, “Toco Roy”, follows with a slightly tighter tempo, maintaining the record’s melodic focus yet shifting toward a more driving hip-hop trance feel that can bridge the transition from warm-up to peak moments. Side B continues the journey with “Around”, a composition that feels like a circling, hypnotic passage. Its structure invites extended mixing, allowing the track to serve as a bridge between the more melodic A-side and the concluding statement. The final piece, “Laamacoun”, rounds off the EP with an atmospheric closure, its title suggesting a lingering echo that can be used to wind down a set or to re-introduce a rhythmic motif in a later portion of a performance. Within HabibiSly’s own trajectory, Habibi Rhapsody marks the first release under his own name after years of touring with Francois Rabbath and founding Museum Studio/Records. The project’s lineup—featuring Tristan Camus on percussion, Aurelien Fradagrada on bass and saz, Samara Naser’s Syrian-inflected vocals and Jaouad El Garrouge’s Gnawa gambri—underscores the record’s blend of modern electronic production with world-music textures. This synthesis situates the EP among contemporary underground releases that prioritize both dancefloor impact and cultural dialogue. For DJs, the record offers a versatile palette. “Dar Algajola” and “Toco Roy” provide rhythmic hooks suitable for opening or peak sets, while “Around” and “Laamacoun” supply longer, more atmospheric sections ideal for transitions or late-night moments. Collectors will appreciate the clear articulation of HabibiSly’s vision: a modern rhapsody that balances spirituality, celebration and a call for ecological and social mindfulness, all encoded in a format that respects the tactile experience of vinyl. The release is pressed as a 12-inch vinyl, matching the label’s standard format for its recent output. The record’s physical presence complements the music’s emphasis on tactile, immersive listening, reinforcing the connection between the listener’s hands and the grooves that carry the electro-hip-hop-trance fusion.
