FANCY — Slice Me Nice LP

Fancy – Slice Me Nice LP arrives on Zyx Music as catalogue MAXI1211-12, a 12-inch red vinyl that revisits the Euro-disco anthem with fresh club-ready reinterpretations. The release pairs the original 12-inch version with six contemporary remixes, positioning the record at the crossroads of nostalgic disco pop house and today’s dancefloor aesthetics. Within Zyx Music’s 2026 output, Slice Me Nice LP follows a series of maxi singles that continue the label’s celebration of Italo-disco heritage. It precedes Gigi D’Agostino’s “Bla Bla Bla EP” (MAXI1212P-12) and sits alongside forthcoming releases by Susanne Meals, Whigfield, Stevie B, Ann Lee and various compilation projects, all slated for later in the year. This context underscores Zyx’s commitment to reviving classic 80s dance tracks through modern production lenses. Side A opens with the “12 ” Version”, a faithful rendering of the original track that preserves its melodic hook while delivering a groove suited to warm-up or peak moments. The subsequent “Slice Remix” builds on that foundation, introducing a subtly updated rhythm that bridges the vintage feel with a contemporary club pulse. Closing Side A, the “Brave 2025 Extended Mix” expands the arrangement, offering DJs an elongated structure for seamless mixing and a heightened sense of forward momentum. Side B begins with the “Flemming Dalum Remix”, which injects a sleek, modern sheen while retaining the song’s signature charm, making it a versatile choice for late-night sets. The “Pulsedriver 80s Mix” follows, delivering a high-energy reinterpretation that leans into the track’s original era, ideal for peak-time moments where nostalgia meets current club vigor. The record concludes with the “DJ CON-T & Neospace Remix”, a collaborative take that fuses contemporary dance textures with the classic’s melodic core, offering a fresh closing statement that can serve both as a set finale or a transition into deeper grooves. For Fancy, Slice Me Nice LP adds to a recent string of vinyl releases on Zyx Music, including the 2026 “Greatest Hits & Remixes Vol. 2 LP”, the “80th Birthday Fan Box LP”, and earlier titles such as “Chinese Eyes” (2025) and “FLAMES OF LOVE” (2024). This continuity highlights the artist’s ongoing dialogue with the label, revisiting past successes while embracing new production voices. From a collector’s perspective, the red vinyl format provides an eye-catching visual cue that complements the record’s blend of classic and contemporary sounds. DJs will find the mix of original and extended remixes valuable for crafting sets that move fluidly between retro-disco nostalgia and present-day club energy, with each side offering both concise and extended options for varied pacing. The release is pressed as a 12-inch vinyl, featuring the striking red colour that distinguishes it within Zyx Music’s 2026 catalogue. Its format supports optimal playback fidelity for both the original track and the modern remixes, ensuring a satisfying experience for vinyl enthusiasts and club programmers alike.
