DINA SUMMER — Children Of The Night

Dina Summer – Children Of The Night is the latest 12-inch offering from Iptamenos Discos (catalog IDI027). The Berlin-based collaborative project delivers a nine-track mini-album that fuses dark disco, Italo-inspired synth pop and electro-clash sensibilities, all pressed on limited transparent vinyl. With a release date set for 9 October 2026, the record gathers the full spectrum of the trio’s retro-futuristic sound, from club-ready basslines to melodic hooks that echo the project’s earlier output. Within Iptamenos Discos’s catalogue, Children Of The Night follows the earlier Local Suicide LP “Eros Anikate” (IDI006LPRP, 2025), situating the release among a line of dark-disco explorations that the label has been nurturing. The proximity of these two records highlights the label’s commitment to the darker side of dance music, while also showcasing the distinct collaborative voice of Dina Summer. Side A opens with “Intro”, a brief atmospheric entry that sets a nocturnal tone for the record. “Burning Heart (Extended Version)” picks up the momentum, delivering a disco-infused synth pop vibe that recalls the energy of the band’s debut album Rimini. “Komodo 3000 (Extended Version)” deepens the mood with a darker club-driven pulse, while the title track “Children Of The Night (Extended Version)” expands that atmosphere, echoing the haunting feel of the 2024 release Hide & Seek. Closing side A, “Bats In Paris” returns to the bright, dancefloor-oriented synth pop that defined earlier material. Side B begins with “Fuel (Extended Version)”, a track that sustains the record’s club focus through a driving rhythm. “On The Road feat. Joshua Murphy” shifts toward a dark-wave-influenced indie texture, offering a contrast that broadens the EP’s palette. “Voodoo (Extended Version)” continues the extended-mix approach, reinforcing the record’s hypnotic repetition. “I Was Always In Love With You” provides a melodic, emotive moment before the closing “Rat Race”, a final nod to the band’s indie-rock-tinged dark wave side. The mini-album consolidates the various strands of Dina Summer’s output: the synth-driven disco of earlier releases, the darker club tracks that have appeared on Hide & Seek, and the indie-leaning songs that would have fit on Girls Gang (2025). By weaving these elements together, Children Of The Night functions as both a showcase of the group’s range and a cohesive statement within the current underground disco landscape. For DJs, the extended versions on both sides supply ample room for mixing, with the longer structures facilitating seamless transitions and the darker tonalities fitting late-night sets. Collectors will appreciate the transparent vinyl presentation, which mirrors the record’s nocturnal theme, and the nine-track format that balances dancefloor utility with listening depth. Children Of The Night arrives as a 12-inch vinyl release by Dina Summer on Iptamenos Discos, catalog IDI027, featuring nine tracks across both sides. Tracklist: A1. Dina Summer – Intro A2.
