About Release

Basile de Suresnes – U All Disco Lovers. F*** (and Remixes) is the expanded remix edition of the French producer’s acclaimed 2023 Frappé Records release, presented here as a five-track 12-inch on catalogue number FRPP017R. Blending disco, house and French house aesthetics, the record combines three original productions with two radically different remixes of the title track from Art Of Tones and Floorfillers. Released as a limited coloured-vinyl edition, it brings together soulful samples, funky basslines, strings, vocal elements, analogue-style drum-machine energy and acid textures in a package aimed squarely at the dancefloor. The story of U All Disco Lovers. F*** begins with the original FRPP017 EP, released by Frappé Records in July 2023. That three-track record became one of the label’s best-selling releases and received support from established DJs including Laurent Garnier, Jamie Jones and Breakbot. The remix edition expands the original concept with two new interpretations of the title track, turning the release into a five-track record with a considerably broader range of disco-house and club functionality. Basile de Suresnes approaches house music through a strong connection with disco and funk. Rather than treating those influences as a purely nostalgic reference, his productions use the musical vocabulary of classic dance music as the foundation for contemporary club arrangements. The result is particularly apparent on the title track, “U All Disco Lovers. F***”, where soulful sampling and a persistent house groove create an immediate sense of movement. The track runs for just over six minutes and establishes the record’s central balance between disco warmth and modern house pressure. The second original, “I Gotta Find U”, features Alex Layan and shifts the emphasis towards a bassline-driven, funk-inflected groove. The rhythm remains firmly rooted in house, while the vocal contribution and playful production details give the track a more expressive character. Its approximately 126 BPM tempo places it comfortably within a contemporary house set, while the funk elements connect it directly to the disco-oriented identity of the Frappé catalogue. “Wot U Think” completes the original material on the A-side. At almost six minutes, it continues the release’s energetic house framework while introducing another variation on the record’s disco vocabulary. The three originals work particularly well as a sequence: the title track establishes the soulful hook, “I Gotta Find U” brings a stronger funk and bass emphasis, and “Wot U Think” keeps the momentum moving before the record reaches its remix-driven B-side. The first B-side cut is the Art Of Tones Remix of “U All Disco Lovers. F***”. Art Of Tones, the alias of French producer Ludovic Llorca, takes the original into a distinctly funky and soulful direction. Frappé describes the interpretation through lush production, syncopated rhythms and additional female vocals, creating a more expansive version of the title track while retaining its central disco-house identity. The remix is a natural fit for DJs looking for a warmer, more sophisticated house groove with a strong vocal and funk presence. The Floorfillers Remix takes almost the opposite approach. Where Art Of Tones emphasizes lushness and funk, Floorfillers introduce a much rawer electronic character. Heavy drum machines and acid elements are layered over the original strings, gradually increasing the track’s intensity before reaching a mid-track climax. The result pushes the title track closer to the contemporary acid-house and machine-driven side of the dancefloor, demonstrating how flexible the original composition is when placed in different production contexts. This contrast between the two remixes is one of the main reasons the FRPP017R edition works so well as a DJ record. The Art Of Tones version provides a polished, funky and soulful interpretation, while the Floorfillers version delivers heavier electronic energy and acid-driven tension. Rather than offering two variations that sound interchangeable, the remixers expose different aspects of the original composition and give selectors two very different tools for different moments of a set. The physical edition is also significant for collectors. FRPP017R was issued as a coloured 12-inch, with retailers describing the edition as pink splattered vinyl; specialist French retailer Betinos lists the pressing as a limited edition of 300 copies in a pink-and-clear splatter design. Some retail databases give conflicting dates for the physical edition, but the label and specialist retailers consistently identify FRPP017R as the remix edition of the 2023 original, with the physical edition appearing in late 2024 and subsequent retail/repress activity continuing into 2025. For DJs, Basile de Suresnes – U All Disco Lovers. F*** (and Remixes) is a versatile disco-house record with several distinct functions. The original “U All Disco Lovers. F***” provides the central soulful groove; “I Gotta Find U” adds a funky vocal dimension; “Wot U Think” maintains the house momentum; the Art Of Tones Remix moves towards lush, syncopated funk; and the Floorfillers Remix supplies the hardest and most electronic interpretation through heavy drums and acid textures. For collectors and selectors interested in modern French disco and house, FRPP017R is an especially useful snapshot of the Frappé Records aesthetic. It connects classic disco and funk references with contemporary house production while bringing together three original Basile de Suresnes tracks and two contrasting remixes from established and emerging French producers. The result is a focused five-track 12-inch that moves naturally between soulful disco house, funky house, French house and acid-tinged club music without losing the groove at the centre of the record.
