VOLKAN — Planet Kotti

Volkan – Planet Kotti is the latest 12-inch offering from Giegling, catalogued as GIEGLING_COLORS_II. Nestled in the label’s eclectic output, this release explores the intersection of tech house, beats house and ambient textures, delivering a mood that feels both introspective and dancefloor-ready. While Giegling’s catalogue is known for its forward-thinking selections, Planet Kotti arrives as a focused statement that balances kinetic rhythm with spacious ambience. The record’s two cuts each occupy a distinct space on the vinyl, yet together they sketch a cohesive sonic narrative. A1 “Planet Kotti” opens the side with a title that conjures a distant, orbiting vibe. The track unfolds with a steady groove that leans into the tech house aesthetic, its pulse inviting subtle movement while ambient layers create a sense of depth. The rhythm provides a solid foundation for DJs to layer over, making it suitable for early-set building or a transitional moment when the floor needs a measured lift. B1 “Perception Pattern” follows on the flip side, offering a complementary contrast. Its title hints at a shifting mental landscape, and the music reflects this with a more intricate beat structure that leans toward beats house. The track’s atmospheric elements sustain a hypnotic quality, allowing it to work as a bridge between peak-time intensity and a more reflective closing segment in a set. Within the current underground scene, the record’s blend of tech-driven propulsion and ambient spaciousness aligns with a growing appetite for tracks that can both move bodies and shape mood. The two pieces demonstrate Volkan’s capacity to navigate these territories without relying on overt hooks, instead favoring nuanced progression that rewards attentive listening. For DJs, the release offers practical utility: “Planet Kotti” supplies a reliable, groove-centric anchor for longer mixes, while “Perception Pattern” provides a textured, rhythmic tool for deeper, more experimental sections. Collectors will appreciate the clear separation of styles across the sides, making the vinyl a versatile addition to any tech house or ambient-focused crate. The record is pressed as a standard 12-inch vinyl, presenting the two tracks in their full length for optimal analog fidelity. Its format ensures the grooves retain the subtle dynamics essential to both the driving beats and the ambient swaths.
