VILLAÇA — Ready For The Future

Villaça – Ready For The Future opens the Les Enfants Black Series with a 12-inch vinyl that situates the Brazilian-born, Barcelona-based producer within a deep-tech house context. Issued by Les Enfants Records under catalogue number LEBS001, the record arrives on 20 July 2026 and offers a compact four-track journey that reflects live-set material from 2023-24 and a fresh studio piece crafted after Villaça’s first club appearance, with guidance from Francesco Carvetta. Within the Les Enfants catalogue, this release follows the 2025 “Vista” (LER-006) by Djebali X Miroloja and “Adapt Or Die” (LER-005) by Felipe Bravo, while preceding the label’s later offerings such as the same-day companion “Ready For The Future” (LEBS006). The Black Series thus marks a new curatorial direction for the imprint, positioning Villaça alongside recent contributors who have explored the label’s evolving techno-house aesthetic. Side A opens with “You Don’t Know”, a deep cut taken from Villaça’s live repertoire. Its mood leans toward the introspective side of tech house, establishing a measured groove that prepares the floor for the brighter second cut. “Ready”, placed as A2, shifts the tone with an uplifting energy that the artist described as being finished the day after his inaugural club set, incorporating compositional advice from Francesco Carvetta. The contrast between the two A-side tracks creates a dynamic arc from contemplation to forward momentum. Side B continues the narrative. “Energy!” (B1) reintroduces the kinetic drive of Villaça’s performances, delivering a powerful surge that can propel a peak-time set. The final track, “A Moment Of Reflection” (B2), offers a more meditative close, allowing the set to wind down while retaining the record’s overall techno-house pulse. The sequencing from the driving B1 to the reflective B2 provides DJs with a natural transition from high intensity to a more thoughtful finish. In the context of Villaça’s discography, “Ready For The Future” sits alongside the “Campana EP” (CMPN001, 2025) and “Same But Different” (OUT006, 2025), both 12-inch releases that explored similar territory, as well as the earlier “Nostalgia EP” (DF002, 2023). While those records emphasized varied facets of his production, this Black Series entry consolidates live-derived material with a freshly composed track, signalling a continued evolution toward emotive, club-ready techno house. For DJs, the record supplies two distinct moods: the deep, rolling vibe of “You Don’t Know” and “A Moment Of Reflection” for late-night or after-hours slots, and the brighter, more immediate energy of “Ready” and “Energy!” for peak moments. The four-track format makes it easy to mix individual cuts or spin the whole EP as a concise set, offering both groove-centric continuity and contrast. The release arrives as a standard 12-inch vinyl, matching the format of Villaça’s recent output and the label’s recent releases. Its analog presentation aligns with the tactile nature of the Black Series, inviting collectors and DJs to experience the nuanced dynamics of the cuts directly from the needle.
