About Release

House Of Moulton Vol. 2 is the second vinyl instalment in Moulton Music’s House Of Moulton series, bringing together four deep and underground house cuts from N W.N., Homero Espinosa, Allen Craig, Nathan G and Tobirus Mozelle. Released as MMV002 in September 2026, the vinyl-only sampler moves between deep house, Chicago house and tech-house territory while maintaining the warm, groove-led character associated with Moulton Music. The concept behind the series is straightforward but effective: Moulton Music digs into its catalogue and related underground material to create vinyl-focused samplers that combine established productions with new interpretations. Following House Of Moulton Vol. 1, which launched the vinyl series in 2025, Vol. 2 continues that approach with four tracks selected for their individual character and their usefulness within a DJ set. The A-side begins with N W.N.’s “Play With My...” in Homero Espinosa’s Touch Of Jazz Remix. The original track was initially released on Bagira Ice Limited in 2018, where it established itself as an understated underground house cut. Espinosa subsequently discovered the track and approached N W.N. about bringing it to vinyl, resulting in both the original and this new remix appearing together on MMV002. Espinosa’s remix retains the fundamental groove of “Play With My...” while introducing a more jazz-inflected character. The emphasis remains firmly on the rhythm, but the additional harmonic and textural detail gives the remix a warmer, more sophisticated profile. Rather than radically reconstructing the original, the Touch Of Jazz Remix works as an extension of its musical identity, preserving the underground feel while giving the track another dimension for selectors. The remix is particularly effective as the opening statement of the record because it immediately establishes the balance that defines House Of Moulton Vol. 2: deep, functional house music with enough musical detail to reward attentive listening. Its groove-led construction makes it suitable for deeper sections of a DJ set, while the jazz influence gives it an individual personality beyond a purely functional club tool. A2 returns to N W.N.’s original “Play With My”. Presented here in its original form, the track provides an important point of reference for Espinosa’s remix. Hearing both versions consecutively makes the relationship between source material and reinterpretation particularly clear: the original establishes the core groove and atmosphere, while the remix develops those elements through its additional jazz-oriented treatment. The decision to place both versions on the same side also gives the A-side a natural internal progression. Rather than presenting four unrelated tracks, Moulton Music allows the listener to hear how a single underground production can evolve through a producer’s reinterpretation. For DJs, the pairing provides two complementary options built around the same musical foundation. The B-side moves into another part of the Moulton Music catalogue with Allen Craig and Tobirus Mozelle’s “Never Alone”, presented here in a Nathan G Remix. The track brings a more soulful dimension to the sampler, with warm chords, a prominent vocal presence from Tobirus Mozelle and a deep-house groove at its core. Nathan G’s treatment keeps the emphasis on warmth and musicality, making this the most openly soulful selection on the release. “Never Alone” demonstrates another side of the House Of Moulton aesthetic. Whereas the A-side is centred on groove and jazz-inflected detail, the B1 track draws on the emotional qualities of vocal deep house. The combination of chords, voice and rhythm creates a more spacious and melodic atmosphere without losing its usefulness for the dancefloor. It is the kind of production that can work equally well during a warm-up, a late-night deep-house transition or a set built around classic soulful house influences. Closing the record is Allen Craig’s “Legbleep”, a deep and moody production that introduces a darker, more techno-infused edge. The track shifts the energy away from the warmth of “Never Alone” and towards a more hypnotic and driving conclusion. Its deeper tonal character provides a useful counterweight to the soulful B1, giving the sampler a stronger sense of progression across the four selections. “Legbleep” also reinforces the broad stylistic range of the release. Although House Of Moulton Vol. 2 is fundamentally rooted in house music, the final track demonstrates how naturally that foundation can move towards techno without abandoning the groove. The result is a closing cut with a more nocturnal character, suited to DJs looking to move a set into darker territory. As a complete record, House Of Moulton Vol. 2 works because of the contrasts between its four tracks. The A-side connects N W.N.’s original “Play With My” with Homero Espinosa’s jazz-inflected reinterpretation, while the B-side moves from Nathan G’s warm, soulful treatment of “Never Alone” into Allen Craig’s deeper, techno-leaning “Legbleep”. The sequencing gives each track its own role while maintaining a coherent underground house identity. MMV002 also continues Moulton Music’s commitment to presenting its catalogue through physical vinyl. The first volume established the series in 2025 with material from artists including Mark Farina and Homero Espinosa, alongside new remixes and reworked catalogue material. Vol. 2 expands the concept with a new selection of producers and tracks, maintaining the label’s focus on house music that connects dancefloor functionality with strong musical character. For DJs and collectors, House Of Moulton Vol. 2 is a compact four-track snapshot of Moulton Music’s deeper side. N W.N.’s “Play With My...” supplies the underground foundation, Homero Espinosa adds his Touch Of Jazz perspective, Nathan G reshapes “Never Alone” into warm vocal deep house, and Allen Craig closes with the darker “Legbleep”. Pressed as a vinyl-only 12-inch, MMV002 brings those contrasting approaches together in a concise sampler designed for selectors who value groove, depth and musical detail.
