About Release
Tieum – Archives EP 2 – Mazykka Vinyles GOBBLESP05MRBLD arrives as a 12-inch vinyl that digs deep into the producer’s early-90s/2000s hardcore archive. The EP, pressed on marbled vinyl, gathers four previously unreleased tracks that capture the raw, high-energy spirit that defined a generation of gabber. By resurfacing these cuts, Mazykka Vinyles offers a concise snapshot of Tieum’s formative period while reinforcing the label’s commitment to unearthing vintage hardcore material.
Within Mazykka Vinyles’ 2026 output, Archives EP 2 follows the Gobble SP 04 and shares its release day with several other projects, including La Tartine’s Dark Violon Part 2 (INSOMNIAKEHS02) and the Anthologie LP 2x12" (MAZYKKAREMIXLP03MRBLD) by Revision and collaborators. Earlier releases on the imprint, such as the Anthologie LP 2x12" (MAZYKKAREMIXLP03) and the Bulgarian Mystery (MAZYKKARP08MRBLD) by Msd, set a precedent for the label’s focus on archival and experimental dance music, making this EP a natural continuation of that curatorial line.
Side A opens with “Dog Mixing Disco”, a track that immediately asserts its place in the hardcore tradition with a relentless tempo and a driving rhythm that feels both nostalgic and immediate. Its title hints at a playful yet ferocious approach, and the cut serves as a kinetic entry point for DJs looking to ignite a set. The second A-side cut, “Ok”, follows with a slightly more restrained pulse, providing a brief respite while maintaining the EP’s overall intensity; its placement creates a subtle ebb before the B-side picks up momentum.
On side B, “Pompe Le Dar” reintroduces the raw aggression expected from Tieum’s archive, delivering a pounding groove that can anchor the climax of a late-night set. Its title evokes a forceful surge, and the track’s structure supports seamless mixing into or out of other high-tempo selections. The final cut, “Fuck You That”, caps the record with unapologetic ferocity, a perfect closing statement that leaves the dancefloor buzzing and ready for the next wave of hardcore onslaught.
Tieum’s recent output on both Mazykka Vinyles and other imprints shows a consistent interest in revisiting and recontextualising older material. Earlier this year the artist released Tcher No Beat 05 RP on Underground Music (UM16C/UM16) and the Peep Show represses (MAZYKKARP7 and MAZYKKARP7NUAGE) on Mazykka Vinyles, each reinforcing a pattern of archival exploration. The Khonda Censure A Palma De Majorque on Gobble Records (GOB10MZKRP3) from 2025 further illustrates Tieum’s ongoing dialogue with past eras, making Archives EP 2 a logical extension of that practice.
For DJs, the EP offers four distinct, high-energy statements that can be deployed at various points in a set: the opening thrust of “Dog Mixing Disco”, the transitional groove of “Ok”, the peak-time drive of “Pompe Le Dar”, and the closing punch of “Fuck You That”. Collectors will appreciate the marbled vinyl aesthetic and the fact that each track is drawn from a period that shaped the hardcore gabber sound, providing both historical context and fresh material for contemporary decks.
The record is presented as a 12-inch vinyl, featuring a marbled finish that distinguishes it visually while preserving the tactile experience prized by vinyl enthusiasts. Its format aligns with the label’s tradition of delivering physical releases that celebrate the medium’s role in dance music culture.
