THEODOR — Your Love – Gerd Janson Remix

Theodor – Your Love – Gerd Janson Remix Sundae Soul Recordings presents SSR31, a 12-inch vinyl that pairs a boogie-inflected cut from Theodor’s second album “Holocene” with a full-scale club reinterpretation by fellow Darmstadt native Gerd Janson. The release bridges the duo’s shared roots in the city’s underground scene, delivering a concise two-track statement that moves from soulful pop to floor-ready techno-house. Both sides of the record draw on the same melodic core, yet each inhabits a distinct dancefloor territory. On side A, “Your Love” unfolds as a bright disco-pop groove, its melodic line shimmering over a steady four-on-the-floor pulse. The track’s structure leans into the sweet-soul aesthetic that has become Theodor’s signature, offering a warm, melodic hook that works equally well as a set opener or a moment of uplift in a deeper set. Side B flips the script entirely. Gerd Janson’s “Your Love – Gerd Janson 7” Mix” deconstructs the original, rebuilding it with a darker, more driving techno-house sensibility. The remix strips back the pop sheen, replacing it with a tighter rhythmic framework and a heightened sense of tension that culminates in a club-ready climax. The result is a track that feels like a natural extension of Janson’s long-standing reputation for delivering ecstatic, high-energy moments on the dancefloor. Within Theodor’s modest discography, this release highlights the artist’s capacity to translate a pop-oriented song into a format that can be reshaped for varied club contexts. For Gerd Janson, the remix reinforces his skill in taking melodic material and re-imagining it for peak-time play, a hallmark of his productions that have been circulating in clubs worldwide for decades. From a collector’s perspective, the record offers a clear illustration of how two producers from the same locale can reinterpret a single composition through contrasting lenses. DJs will find the A-side useful for sets that require a melodic, feel-good vibe, while the B-side delivers the kinetic energy needed for late-night peaks. The two tracks together provide a versatile toolkit for programming, whether in a soulful house set or a more driving techno-house environment. The release arrives as a 12-inch vinyl, the format that best captures the analog warmth of Theodor’s original production and the punch of Janson’s remix. The record’s straightforward two-track layout makes it an accessible addition for both vinyl enthusiasts and DJs seeking a high-quality source for club use.
