SOUL INTENT — Inside Yourself EP

Soul Intent – Inside Yourself EP Mooncraft’s MOONC002 arrives as a 12-inch vinyl that continues the label’s focus on forward-thinking drum & bass. The blue-hued record drops on 9 October 2026 and offers four tracks that explore the same kinetic energy that defined the label’s recent output. The EP follows Mooncraft’s Ascendance EP (MOONC001), which arrived earlier in 2026, situating “Inside Yourself” within a brief but potent series of releases that showcase the label’s commitment to polished, high-tempo productions. For Soul Intent, this record sits after a string of 12-inch outings on various imprints, including the Lossless “Fight The Future EP” (LOSS015, 2025) and the Exkursions “Atmospherics” (EXKURLP03, 2024), as well as earlier statements on Dope Plates and Lossless. The progression from those releases to the current EP underscores a tightening of the artist’s signature rapid-break patterns and atmospheric layering. Side A opens with “Inside Yourself”, a title that suggests an inward focus matched by a driving rhythm that propels the track forward, making it a solid opener for a set that needs immediate momentum. The second cut, “Mission Status”, maintains the tempo while shifting the tonal palette, offering a slightly more restrained groove that works as a bridge between the opener and the deeper cuts on the flip side. Side B begins with “Loving You”, a track whose name hints at a more emotive angle; the music follows suit with a smoother flow that still retains the high-energy pulse of the EP, providing a useful mood change for late-night moments. The record closes with “Transmit Message”, a concise statement that caps the journey with a crisp, forward-moving beat, ideal for transitioning into a peak-time climax. Within Soul Intent’s catalogue, “Inside Yourself EP” represents a continuation of the artist’s exploration of tight drum programming and melodic undercurrents, building on the groundwork laid by earlier releases such as “Black Lotus EP” (DOPE014, 2023) and the “Remixes of Grandeur” (LOSS014, 2023). On Mooncraft, it complements the label’s recent focus on sleek, club-ready drum & bass, sitting comfortably alongside Ascendance EP while hinting at a forward trajectory. For DJs, the record offers two pairs of tracks that can be mixed either as tight A-side progressions or as stand-alone statements. “Inside Yourself” and “Mission Status” provide a high-energy launchpad, while “Loving You” and “Transmit Message” supply more nuanced textures for deeper set moments. The sequencing encourages a narrative flow, making the EP a versatile tool for both peak-time bursts and more introspective sections. The release is pressed on 12-inch blue vinyl, matching the visual aesthetic of Mooncraft’s recent output. The format supports the warm, analog feel that drum & bass enthusiasts appreciate, and the pressing quality is consistent with the label’s standards.
