PLETNEV — Bleach Please

Pletnev – Bleach Please opens the second installment of CHTNR’s new series, a 12-inch vinyl that lands on the Chat Noir imprint under catalogue number CHTNR002. Arriving on 30 November 2026, the record situates itself at the crossroads of trance-techno and progressive, delivering a tightly engineered set of four tracks where relentless grooves meet razor-sharp sound design. The release follows the label’s earlier offering Quanteen by Myki (CHTNR001), which set the tone for the fledgling CHTNR series. Bleach Please continues that momentum, positioning Pletnev’s contribution as a direct response to the series’ opening statement while reinforcing Chat Noir’s commitment to precision-driven, psychedelic-tinged techno. Side A begins with “Self Defence”, a track that launches the record with a driving pulse that immediately commands attention, establishing a hypnotic momentum that carries through to “Mint Lips”. The second A-side piece deepens the tension, offering a slightly more expansive groove that balances the initial intensity with a subtle progressive lift, creating a seamless transition that keeps the floor moving. On the flip side, “Give Me One More Night, Buzzo” introduces a darker, more insistent rhythm, its relentless drive acting as a counterpoint to the A-side’s forward thrust. The final cut, “Bleach Please”, caps the record with a focused, high-energy climax, its precise arrangement serving as a fitting conclusion to the four-track journey and reinforcing the release’s theme of “bleaching sins” through sound. Pletnev’s recent output includes a string of 12-inch releases on various underground imprints—RM12044 on R.A.N.D. Muzik Recordings, Desire Machine on Earthdog Recordings, and the darker “I Joined A Cult Once. Got Kicked Out For Being Too Dark” on 999 Goosebumps, among others. This record builds on that catalogue, translating the artist’s penchant for meticulous production into a more dancefloor-oriented context, while still retaining the psychedelic tension evident in earlier work. Within the contemporary underground scene, Bleach Please offers a concise yet potent statement that aligns with the current resurgence of trance-infused techno. Its precise construction and clear focus make it a valuable addition for DJs seeking tracks that can both drive a peak set and provide nuanced transitions between darker and more uplifting moments. For collectors and vinyl enthusiasts, the 12-inch format presents a tactile experience that mirrors the record’s engineered precision. The pressing adheres to the standard format, delivering the four tracks with the clarity needed for both home listening and club play.
