About Release
Paul Pèrrim – Arati
Keroxen releases KRXN058 as a 12-inch vinyl that pushes further into the experimental wilderness hinted at on the artist’s 2025 debut, Itara (KRXN049). The new record is billed as a raw, expeditionary palindromic companion, exploring harsher terrain and a more rugged soundscape while retaining the cultural-anthropology lens that defines Pèrrim’s work.
Within Keroxen’s recent output Arati follows a series of diverse releases: the earlier Dancelwerk LP Spandauer Damm 103 (KRXN054, 2026), Lagoss’s Música para Plátanos (KRXN047, 2026) and the label’s Aquapelagos Vol.3: Pacífico (KRXN028, 2026). It arrives after the label’s 2025 Radar Keroxen Vol.5 compilation (KRXN042) and sits alongside the earlier Paul Pèrrim outing Itara, establishing a continuity of field-recording inspired experiments within the catalogue.
Side A opens with “Strofc”, a title that hints at a fragmented, looping structure, setting a tone of stark, exploratory ambience that segues into “Benacron”, whose name suggests a crystalline, perhaps ritualistic quality. “Reliups” follows, maintaining the austere mood while introducing a subtle shift in texture, and “Eriyocotus Udol” deepens the sense of place with a more expansive, echoing feel. The latter half of the side continues with “Des Paxo”, a brief interlude that acts as a breath before “Aliketis”, which adds a slightly more rhythmic pulse, leading into “Eriyocotus” that revisits earlier motifs with a refined focus, and finally “Dermux Puput”, a closing statement that consolidates the side’s journey into a singular, resonant finish.
The record’s second side mirrors the first in its commitment to an unhurried, immersive experience. Each track’s title evokes a distinct locale or memory, from the imagined scent of Persian leopard dung to the phantom sound of a camel being milked, reinforcing the album’s role as a sonic field journal. The sequencing encourages a DJ to weave the pieces into a set that evolves slowly, allowing the listener to absorb the primal, timeless textures before moving deeper into the desert-like soundscape.
Arati expands Paul Pèrrim’s catalogue by deepening the cultural-futurist approach introduced on Itara. Within Keroxen’s broader narrative it reinforces the label’s dedication to experimental works that draw from diverse traditions and avant-garde sound collage, positioning the release as a noteworthy entry in contemporary underground music that values texture over immediacy.
For DJs, the record offers a series of long, open-ended sections ideal for late-night mixing or for constructing a narrative arc within a set. Collectors will appreciate the deliberate pacing and the way each side functions as a self-contained journey, providing ample material for both deep listening and creative reinterpretation on the dancefloor.
The release is pressed as a 12-inch vinyl, matching the format of its predecessor and fitting seamlessly into the tactile tradition of experimental record culture.
