Femenino Singular is José's first record under his own name, following more than 20 releases as not a headliner and an earlier take on the project with not a headliner presents José. That same gesture moves with the record itself: side A happens at night, side B in the morning, and what the titles hint at shifts with that transition. Built with real instruments - bass, guitar, percussion, synths - reaching for a swing that breaks away from a machine's quantized grid, somewhere between house and techno.
