About Release
Futureslowdubdisco – Natureconnection appears on Hermit Records as catalogue HRL05, a 12-inch vinyl that continues the duo’s exploration of dub techno, deep techno and experimental sound design. After the atmospheric “Superpaesaggio” the project returns with a record built on deconstructed rhythms, suspended atmospheres and a sense of emotional tension that draws from ethnic echoes.
Within the Hermit Records family this release follows Grischa Lichtenberger’s “Live At Fondazione Museo Pino Pascali” (HRL04, 2025) and the duo’s own “Superpaesaggio” (HRL03, 2024). The progression from earlier releases shows a deepening of the label’s focus on immersive, post-modern electronic narratives.
Side A opens with “NATURE CONNECTION” (5:03), a track that evokes a dense, forested landscape through a slowly unfurling groove and a feeling of suspended time. The second cut, “SHAMAN” (6:00), deepens the journey into darker, shadowy ravines, offering a brooding mood that contrasts with the opening track while maintaining the record’s overall minimalist aesthetic. “WENDIGO” (5:51) follows, suggesting a descent into ocean depths; its fluid structure provides a seamless transition from the previous track’s weightier tone, reinforcing the album’s thematic travel through varied natural realms.
Side B begins with “MANITOU” (4:11), a composition that conjures the volatile slopes of an active volcano, delivering a tighter, more kinetic energy that prepares the listener for the final statements. The title track returns in a remixed form by Virtual Reality (4:41), re-imagining the forest motif with a dancefloor-ready pulse while preserving the original’s atmospheric core. The record closes with Adelmo’s remix of “SHAMAN” (4:58), which reinterprets the shadowy ravine theme through a more direct, club-oriented approach, offering DJs a versatile ending point for a set.
Natureconnection sits at a crossroads in Futureslowdubdisco’s catalogue, extending the duo’s blend of downtempo, minimal techno and dub that has been defined on “Superpaesaggio”. The record’s emphasis on deconstructed rhythm and ethno-tonal references adds a fresh dimension to Hermit Records’ output, aligning with the label’s penchant for post-modern, library-style music with strong pathos.
For DJs, the record supplies both deep, introspective cuts suitable for late-night or back-to-back moments and two remixes that can be slipped into more driving portions of a set. The original tracks’ spacious arrangement allows for creative mixing, while the remixes provide ready-made momentum without losing the album’s overarching atmosphere. Collectors will appreciate the continuity of the visual language, with Awer’s artwork complementing Flavia Mastrella’s previous contribution, reinforcing the release’s conceptual unity.
The release is pressed as a 12-inch vinyl, matching the format of the duo’s earlier Hermit Records outing. Its physical presentation supports the tactile experience that the music’s texture invites, making it a compelling addition for both vinyl enthusiasts and those seeking a nuanced, narrative-driven techno journey.
