About Release
Ebi – Space Teddy Collection
The double-12-inch release arrives on Transmigration under catalogue TM/XS001, a repress that gathers two previously re-issued LPs into a single package. Issued for 10 December 2026, the record sits at the intersection of acid house, ambient and techno house, offering a curated glimpse of Susumu Yokota’s techno-house vision as assembled with Space Teddy and the Yokota family.
Within Transmigration’s recent output, Space Teddy Collection follows the earlier 2026 releases Global Dance Archive II (TM031), Invisible Lov 2×12″ (TM030) and Mysterious Vastness (TM029), and continues the label’s focus on archival projects such as Unreleased Works 94'-97' (TM028). The label’s 2024 entries Ulterior Motives (TM026) and Elevate / Golden Eyed (TM023) demonstrate a consistent interest in deep, historically minded dance music, making this repress a natural extension of that curatorial line.
Side A opens with “Sou”, a track that sets a meditative tone before moving into “San”, a complementary piece that sustains the contemplative atmosphere while subtly shifting the groove. The two cuts on side B, “Tsuru” and “Hi”, deepen the mood, each extending the ambient-techno thread introduced earlier and preparing the listener for the record’s second half.
Side C continues the journey with “Zen”, a composition that evokes a spacious, almost crystalline quality, followed by “Chuu”, which maintains the reflective ambience while introducing a gentle rhythmic pulse. The final side offers three concluding statements: “Sei” and “Kaze” both reinforce the record’s hypnotic flow, and “Tsuki” closes the set with a lingering, atmospheric finish that echoes the earlier material while providing a subtle sense of resolution.
The collection is significant as a consolidated presentation of Yokota’s early techno-house explorations, now remastered by Steffen Müller and accompanied by bilingual liner notes and archival photography from Uwe Reineke and Mijk Van Dijk. For collectors and DJs alike, the double-LP format allows for seamless mixing of the extended pieces, while the cohesive sequencing supports both deep-listening sessions and late-night set builds.
From a DJ’s perspective, the tracks’ extended structures and ambient undercurrents make them ideal for layering in progressive sets, offering moments of tension and release that can be woven into longer journeys. Collectors will appreciate the Obi strip, insert, and the limited-run nature of the repress, which together reinforce the release’s archival value.
The record is presented as a 2 × 12-inch vinyl set, reproduced as a repress that includes the original artwork, Obi strip and insert, with all tracks freshly remastered.
