DJ ROU — Handz Up EP

DJ Rou – Handz Up EP arrives on STAMPO as catalogue STAMPO005, a 12-inch vinyl that threads electro and disco sensibilities through four distinct moods. The Italian producer, noted for an expansive record collection, delivers a concise set that invites movement while showcasing his knack for shifting intensity. Within the STAMPO roster, Handz Up EP follows the label’s earlier outings: the Ruper Ellis “Genesis EP” (STAMPO002, 2025) and Svj’s “STAMPO 003” (2025), before Jesse You’s “STAMPO 004” later that year. Positioned as the fifth release, the record continues the label’s practice of stamping each artist’s identity onto the vinyl, a visual cue that mirrors the music’s personal imprint. Side A opens with “Never End”, a track that sustains a driving groove, setting a kinetic tone that segues into the title cut “Handz Up”. The latter amplifies the momentum, offering a brighter, dance-floor-ready pulse that complements the closing energy of its predecessor. On side B, “Arabian Electro Nights” shifts the palette, introducing a more exotic ambience while retaining the record’s rhythmic core. The final cut, “Gangs Of New Trance (L.A Crimes)”, wraps the EP with a darker, trance-inflected texture that balances the earlier brightness, providing a fitting conclusion to the journey. For DJ Rou, Handz Up EP arrives after two 12-inch releases earlier in 2026: “THE ROCK EP” on Incoherent Debts (DEBT008) and “A14 EP” on Obliq Records (OR003). Both records explored different facets of his production style, and the STAMPO offering consolidates those explorations into a tighter, label-specific statement that reflects his versatility across electro-disco terrain. In the context of STAMPO’s developing catalogue, the EP reinforces the label’s commitment to eclectic electronic sounds while granting each contributor a distinct sonic signature. DJ Rou’s contribution adds a layer of seasoned craftsmanship to a series that already spans synth-driven techno, melodic house, and experimental electro. From a DJ’s perspective, the record supplies two versatile building blocks on each side. “Never End” and “Handz Up” work well as opening or peak-time selections, their steady drive suited to longer mixes. “Arabian Electro Nights” offers a moodier interlude for transitions, and “Gangs Of New Trance (L.A Crimes)” provides a darker climax that can close a set or serve as a bridge into deeper territories. Collectors will appreciate the continuity of the stamp motif and the way the EP encapsulates DJ Rou’s breadth within a concise format. The release is pressed on 12-inch vinyl, matching the format of the label’s previous offerings and preserving the tactile experience prized by vinyl enthusiasts.
