About Release
DJ Astrobee returns to Time Travel Stuff for Murder EP, the second release on the Tbilisi-based label and its first solo artist record. Released as TTS002, this vinyl-only four-track 12-inch brings together Lake Disappear, Murder, Elmatador and Illusion "Dusk", presenting a compact set of acid- and electro-informed house music with a distinctly underground character. The record was released in May 2026 and follows Time Travel Stuff 001, the label's debut various-artists compilation.
DJ Astrobee is a Georgian producer associated with Batumi and the Georgian electronic-music scene, with a catalogue that moves between electro, acid, house and techno. His self-released work includes the 2025 Look In the Mirror EP and the 2026 Slow Mechanism EP, both of which demonstrate his interest in combining electro and acid vocabulary with dancefloor-oriented arrangements. Murder EP extends that approach into a dedicated vinyl release, with Time Travel Stuff describing the record as a heavyweight set of "Rare Acid" sounds.
The A-side opens with Lake Disappear, immediately establishing the record's relationship with acid house and electro. The track sets up the EP through a stripped, machine-driven framework in which the groove is more important than conventional songwriting. Its placement at A1 makes it an effective introduction to the record's sound: rhythmic, synthetic and hypnotic, with the characteristic sense of movement associated with acid-focused club music. Rather than overwhelming the arrangement with layers, the track allows the central electronic elements to define its character.
Murder follows on A2 and provides the EP with its title track. This is the most direct statement of the release's acid identity, built around a persistent club groove and the kind of synthetic rhythmic tension that gives acid house its distinctive physical quality. The track has also been selected by the label for promotional listening, reinforcing its importance within the EP. Its function is straightforward but effective: a focused dancefloor tool whose repetition and evolving electronic details allow the groove to develop over the course of a mix.
The B-side begins with Elmatador, shifting the emphasis while remaining firmly inside the EP's electronic framework. The track continues Astrobee's interest in the intersection between electro, house and acid, with a rhythmic construction designed around movement rather than dramatic structural changes. As the first track on the flip, it provides a useful reset after the two A-side productions while retaining enough continuity for the four tracks to function as a cohesive record.
Illusion "Dusk" closes the EP. The title suggests a more atmospheric direction, and its position at B2 gives the release an appropriate final chapter after the more direct energy of Murder and Elmatador. Rather than introducing a completely different musical language, Astrobee uses the closing track to explore the more spacious side of the same acid/electro palette. It leaves the record within its established world of electronic textures, machine rhythm and understated tension.
One of the defining characteristics of Murder EP is its economy. There are no unnecessary stylistic detours across the four tracks; the release stays focused on the relationship between acid, electro and house. This consistency makes the record particularly useful as a DJ tool. The individual productions can be introduced at different stages of an underground set, while the complete 12-inch retains a strong sense of identity from A1 through B2.
The record also carries significance within the development of Time Travel Stuff. The label was established in Tbilisi by Gio Shengelia and Trotsky, and its first release, Time Travel Stuff 001, presented music from Cobert, Reshio, Gio Shengelia and Time Travelers. That debut described the label's concept through an interest in travelling through sound and exploring the spaces between past and future. TTS002 translates that idea into a focused artist release, with Astrobee's acid and electro productions providing a contemporary interpretation of electronic-music traditions with deep roots in earlier club culture.
The physical format is central to the release. Murder EP is explicitly a vinyl-only pressing, with the 12-inch edition containing the four tracks unavailable as a conventional digital album through the label's presentation of the release. This makes TTS002 particularly relevant to DJs and collectors interested in specialist underground vinyl, where the physical record itself is part of the label's identity rather than simply another format for a digital release.
For DJs, the EP offers four concise pieces of acid- and electro-driven club music that can work within house, electro and techno-oriented sets. Lake Disappear introduces the record's sound, Murder delivers the most recognisable statement of its acid aesthetic, Elmatador keeps the B-side moving through a similarly machine-led approach, and Illusion "Dusk" closes with a more atmospheric perspective. The tracks share enough rhythmic and sonic DNA to mix naturally while retaining distinct identities.
As TTS002, Murder EP is therefore both a focused DJ record and an important early statement from Time Travel Stuff. DJ Astrobee brings a distinctly Georgian perspective to acid house, electro and underground house music, while the label provides a physical platform for that sound through a dedicated vinyl-only release. Four tracks — Lake Disappear, Murder, Elmatador and Illusion "Dusk" — form a tightly constructed record that looks towards the history of machine-driven club music while remaining firmly connected to the contemporary underground.
