DEZ ANDRÉS — Dr-ep-2086

Dez Andrés – DR-EP-2086 arrives on Dolfin US as a hand-stamped 12-inch vinyl limited to 476 copies. The release, catalogued DR-EP-2086, slots into the label’s house-focused output, offering a concise five-track EP that balances playful motifs with club-ready momentum. Dolfin US has been busy this year, with earlier outings such as Jt Donaldson’s “10 LP 2x12” (DR2085), Ben Hixon’s “December Blackout EP” (DREP2073) and “Ghoul5ive” (DREP2071), as well as the collaborative “See 2 It EP” (DRRP2084). Dez Andrés’ new EP follows these releases, continuing the label’s emphasis on crisp, dancefloor-oriented house while adding a distinct personal touch. Side A opens with “get down”, a title that hints at a groove built for immediate movement, setting a buoyant tone that carries through the side. The second cut, “hey”, picks up the momentum, offering a slightly tighter rhythmic feel that complements the opener. Closing side A, “mcarthur” introduces a more introspective vibe, its title evoking a nocturnal journey that bridges the energetic A-side with the deeper textures of the B-side. Side B begins with “hands”, a track that leans into a steady pulse, ideal for weaving into a late-night set where subtle shifts keep the floor engaged. The EP concludes with “that heat”, a closing statement that radiates warmth and energy, providing a satisfying end-point that can either resolve a set or segue into a more driving moment. Within Dez Andrés’ own discography, the EP follows the “CASABLANCA LP 2x12” (SPTLTE004, Spot Lite, 2025), showing a continued exploration of house aesthetics across different labels. While the earlier LP explored broader arrangements, DR-EP-2086 condenses the approach into a focused five-track statement, highlighting the producer’s knack for crafting concise, dancefloor-ready cuts. For DJs, the EP offers a versatile toolkit: “get down” and “hey” work well as opening or peak-time selections, “mcarthur” provides a transitional mood, while “hands” and “that heat” serve as effective tools for building or releasing tension in a set. Collectors will appreciate the limited run and hand-stamped presentation, which underscore the release’s tactile appeal and its place within Dolfin US’s current house catalogue. The record is pressed as a 12-inch vinyl, featuring the hand-stamped artwork noted by the label. Its limited nature—476 copies—adds a layer of exclusivity for those who value physical artifacts as part of their collection.
