DAVE SEAMAN — Mirrorball Sleaze

Dave Seaman – Mirrorball Sleaze Selador Recordings presents SELV017, a 12-inch vinyl that gathers eleven pieces into two seamless listening suites across sides A and B. The album arrives as a culmination of almost forty years in the trenches of acid house, stitching together fresh material and re-imagined moments from Seaman’s extensive back-catalogue. Its blend of electronica and ambient textures offers a sultry, shimmering journey that oscillates between deep introspection and euphoric lift, marking a significant personal milestone for the veteran producer. Within Selador’s recent output, Mirrorball Sleaze follows the label’s earlier releases SELV016 by Danny Howells (Godsexy) and SELV015 – also by Dave Seaman (Nightfalls), both from 2026. It arrives after the 2025 entries SELV014 (Magic Black Plastic Vol. 8) and SELV013 (Magic Black Plastic Vol 7) and the 2023 Selador Decade Volume 1, situating the record amid a period of prolific output that balances club-oriented cuts with more experimental fare. Side A opens with “Loco Hermoso’ feat. DJ Paul (AR) (Poolside Mix)”, a track that sets a warm, sun-kissed tone and segues naturally into “Thonk!’ (Mirrorball Re-Rub)”, which deepens the groove while maintaining the flowing momentum. The third cut, “’Rapscallion’s Revenge’ (Mind Body Soul Revision)”, continues the narrative with a slightly more contemplative mood, leading into the title piece “Mirrorball Sleaze’ (Freedrumapella)”, an atmospheric interlude that bridges the first half to the second. The side closes with “Nightfalls’ feat. Gaelle Adisson (Sunrise Mix)”, a luminous closer that hints at the dawn of the B side. Side B begins with “Rockets & Rainbows’ with Quivver feat. Brianna Price (Under the Sun Mix)”, a bright, uplifting opener that lifts the set into a more expansive space. “Heavyweight Residue’ feat. Thomas Gandey (Mirrorball Re-Rub)” follows, providing a weightier, more grounded contrast before “Everything Comes In Threes’ feat. One Million Toys (Magic Number Remix)” adds a playful twist. “Promise You’ with AIKON (Mirrorball Revision)” returns to a smoother, melodic flow, while “’So Damn Beautiful’ feat. Poloroid (Widescreen Mix)” expands the sonic canvas with a cinematic feel. The record concludes with “Under The Knowledge’ with Hernan Cattaneo & Nunchi Coup feat. Yulanda”, a closing statement that ties together the album’s thematic arc. Mirrorball Sleaze occupies a unique place in Seaman’s discography, arriving after his recent SELV015 outing Nightfalls and echoing the same blend of club sensibility and reflective ambience that has defined his later work. Within Selador’s catalogue, the release acts as a bridge between the label’s dance-floor focused EPs and its more eclectic compilations, reinforcing the imprint’s reputation for curating forward-thinking electronica. For DJs, the record offers two ready-made mini-sets: side A provides a deep, groove-centric progression suitable for early-night slots, while side B supplies brighter, melodic moments that can lift a late-night peak. The seamless segues between tracks make it a practical tool for continuous mixing, and the varied guest vocalists add moments of vocal texture without overwhelming the instrumental core. The release is pressed as a 12-inch vinyl, split into two sides that flow as continuous pieces. Its format supports the intended listening experience, allowing collectors to experience the album as a cohesive journey from start to finish.
