AND IF — Rebirth 20 – Bonus Due

And If – Rebirth 20 – Bonus Due opens the second of Rebirth’s limited-edition 12-inch bonus series, catalogued as REB132BONUS2. Issued on 12-inch vinyl, the EP continues the label’s deep-house celebration of its twentieth anniversary, offering four remixes and rarities that dig deeper into the Rebirth archive. Rebirth’s 2026 output has been prolific, with the earlier REB132 “Rebirth 20 (LP 2x12”)” and the companion bonus EP “Rebirth 20 – Bonus Uno” (REB132BONUS1) framing this release. The series follows the “Rebirth 10 Selected by Larry Heard aka Mr. Fingers” 2x12” (REB130BW) and precedes the forthcoming “Lover & Paris Brightledge I Like” (REB133), situating Bonus Due firmly within a wave of retrospective compilations that highlight the label’s two-decade legacy. Side A opens with “Beyond Senses (Silicone Soul’s Hypno House Dub)”, a reinterpretation that leans into the label’s signature hypnotic groove, extending the mood set by the original while providing a spacious canvas for late-night mixing. The second cut, “Star Odyssey (John Ciafone Remix)”, brings the touch of John Ciafone, whose own 2024 12-inch “I See You Dancing” on Groove On demonstrated a deft hand at reshaping melodic house lines. Here the remix adds a subtle, forward-moving pulse that bridges the opening dub with the B-side’s more reflective moments. Flipping to side B, “Tribute” by Federico Baracco offers a concise, deep-house vignette that feels like a nod to the label’s early catalog, its restrained rhythm inviting seamless transition into the final track. Closing the record, “Something About You (Unreleased Mix)” by Blue Mondays feat. Javonntte presents a previously unheard version that layers a warm, melodic hook over a steady groove, making it a fitting culmination for DJs seeking a soulful, dancefloor-ready closer. Within the Rebirth catalogue, Bonus Due stands as a curated snapshot of the label’s depth, juxtaposing fresh reinterpretations with hidden gems. The inclusion of both established remixers and unreleased material underscores Rebirth’s commitment to both honoring its past and providing new tools for contemporary sets. For DJs, the EP offers immediate utility: the A-side tracks supply extended, mix-friendly structures ideal for building tension in the early hours, while the B-side delivers a more intimate vibe suitable for winding down or for a nuanced transition. Collectors will appreciate the continuity of the bonus series and the rarity of the unreleased mix, which adds a layer of exclusivity to an otherwise cohesive deep-house collection. The record is pressed as a 12-inch vinyl, matching the format of the surrounding Rebirth releases and preserving the tactile experience prized by vinyl enthusiasts.
