About Release
Alexander Kowalski – No Exits EP arrives on Frameworks as catalogue FW08, a 12-inch vinyl that continues the label’s focus on forward-thinking techno. Issued on 30 October 2026, the EP offers four tracks that explore tension and release within a tightly sequenced framework, making it a notable addition to both the label’s output and Kowalski’s recent discography.
Frameworks has been building a consistent techno narrative over the past few years. Earlier this year the label issued Roseen’s Zero Point Drift EP (FW07) and Decka’s Evolution EP (FW06), both of which emphasized kinetic rhythms and precise sound design. In 2025 the label released Ray Kajioka’s Nord Hammer (FW05), while 2024 saw the collaborative Imaginary Places Remixed (FW04) and Roseen’s Motor EP (FW03) in 2023. No Exits EP follows this lineage, reinforcing Frameworks’ reputation for delivering tracks that are both club-ready and sonically adventurous.
Side A opens with “No Exits”, a track that immediately asserts a propulsive groove, setting a mood of relentless forward motion. The follow-up, “No Exits (Process)”, extends the initial idea, offering a subtle shift in texture that keeps the momentum while providing a moment for DJs to transition smoothly into the B-side. On side B, “Motion” introduces a slightly altered rhythmic feel, acting as a bridge that re-energises the set after the A-side’s intensity. The record closes with “Sub Level”, a deeper, more introspective piece that invites a late-night atmosphere and can serve as a winding-down moment or a dark, hypnotic peak.
Kowalski’s recent output on other labels demonstrates a versatile approach to techno. Earlier in 2026 the producer delivered the Sinee Remixes on Damage Music Berlin (DMBRMX) and the Echoes (2026 Remaster) on Cycles Music (CYCLP001), a 2×12-inch set that revisited earlier material with refined production. The Live II 12-inch (CYC001) and the Berlin Sessions I EP (DND006) from 2025 further showcase a blend of live improvisation and studio precision. Earlier releases such as the 2024 Claudio PRC remix on Made Of Concrete (MOC040), the 2023 Lost in Depths on ARTS (ARTSW010), and the Season Two Remixes EP on Recorded Things (RECT012) illustrate Kowalski’s ongoing dialogue with the underground techno scene, a conversation that No Exits EP continues.
Within the broader techno landscape, the EP arrives at a moment when producers are revisiting classic structures while injecting fresh modulation. By pairing a driving opener with a more contemplative closer, Kowalski offers a compact narrative that mirrors current set constructions: high energy peaks followed by darker, more immersive passages. The record’s sequencing makes it suitable for both peak-time bursts and deeper, after-hour moments.
For DJs, the four tracks provide clear functional roles. “No Exits” and its Process version can be layered or mixed back-to-back for extended builds, while “Motion” offers a rhythmic shift ideal for transitioning between different moods. “Sub Level” supplies a deep, resonant closing element that can either end a set or segue into more atmospheric material. Collectors will appreciate the concise yet varied selection, which captures Kowalski’s signature techno aesthetic within a single 12-inch format.
The release is pressed as a 12-inch vinyl, matching the format of the label’s recent EPs and aligning with the physical medium favoured by techno purists. Its straightforward presentation focuses attention on the music rather than on ancillary packaging details.
